The Supporting Trans People Toolkit (the toolkit) was commissioned in 2018, by Bristol CCG, Bristol Independent Mental Health Network (BIHMN), Devon Partnership NHS Trust and Avon & Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust (AWP). The purpose of the toolkit was to help health and care professionals to understand their needs and issues enabling them to provide better care for transgender people.
This Equality Impact Assessment (EIA) reviews the toolkit as currently drafted to ascertain any potential impacts on the 9 protected characteristics. It also considers its legal basis, and identifies potential areas of risk, as well as offering mitigations and recommendations for next steps.
