Our local Integrated Care System (ICS)
People’s ability to stay healthy and well depends on a range of things, including social connections, employment, housing and education. To make a real difference in people’s lives, health and care services need to reflect the importance of these wider factors and the role they play in our health and wellbeing.
As well as bringing a range of partner organisations together to help people stay happy, healthy and well for longer; Integrated Care Systems are designed to ensure that health and care services join up around individual needs – breaking down the boundaries between physical health, mental health and social care services.
Our ICS serves the areas of Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire. It is comprised of 10 partner organisations, including the three Local Authorities in our area, NHS Trusts, the new Integrated Care Board and community and General Practice providers. It is also known as the Healthier Together Partnership.
Visit the Healthier Together websiteThe Health and Care Act formalised the arrangements to ensure that ICSs become statutory entities from 1 July 2022.
This move gives us the opportunity to build on the successes of our Partnership to date and accelerate progress on behalf of the people and communities we serve. Together, we will work to improve health and wellbeing, reduce inequalities, and provide integrated services for the one million people living in Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire.
