Still time to order repeat prescriptions before Easter
There’s still time to order and collect repeat prescriptions ahead of the long Easter bank holiday weekend (29 March – 1 April).
GPs and many pharmacies close for the bank holidays so it’s important anyone who has repeat medication makes sure they have enough to last the weekend.
Prescriptions can be requested on the NHS App, online, over the phone or face to face at a GP surgery, and can be sent directly to a patient’s preferred pharmacy for collection.
Integrated Care Board Chief Medical Officer Dr Jo Medhurst said:
“Easter’s a time for relaxing and spending time with family and friends, so don’t let last-minute medication panics get in the way.
“If you have a repeat medicines, now’s the time to check how much you have and if necessary, order a prescription for collection before the bank holiday.”
Urgent and emergency care services, including NHS 111 and a limited number of emergency pharmacists, will continue to be available over the bank holidays – see our Which NHS service should I use? page for details of local services.
