Matt Backler

Interim Chief Finance officer

Matt is Interim Chief Finance officer at Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire Integrated Care Board, previously being the Operational Director of Finance.

Matt joined the NHS in 2012 as Head of Financial Planning and analysis at Monitor before moving into a number of senior finance leadership roles within the NHS across Commissioning, Specialist provision, Acute and Community. He has also held roles as Use of Resource Director at East Sussex Health Care NHS Trust and Deputy Managing Director of the West London Cancer Alliance.

In addition to his roles within the NHS, he is currently a non-executive member of the Audit and Risk Committee at Sovereign Network Group, a major Housing Association.
