Non-Executive Member – Quality and Performance Committee and Remuneration Committee
Ellen lives in Neath, a county borough in the south west of Wales. Ellen is an experienced Board Director with over 25 years commercial experience in the private sector.
Ellen’s latter commercial roles were with Debenhams PLC (1998 to 2008) in roles as Trading Director, where she was responsible for the development of brands, products, and services. Also, as an Operations Director leading a workforce of over 5,000 staff. She followed this with working as a freelance consultant and executive coach (2010 to 2014).
Since then, Ellen has developed a portfolio of NED roles. Her current NED commitments are:
- Chair of the Remuneration committee
- member of the Finance and People committee
- member of the Future workplace property committee for the Welsh Government Board (since 2018)
- NED of the Transport for Wales Steering Board (since 2019)
- NED of the Marie Curie advisory Board Wales (since 2019)
- NED and Chair of the Remuneration committee for the Human Tissue Authority (since March 2021).
Ellen’s previous NED roles were with Qualifications Wales, charing the Remuneration committee and as a member of the Resources committee (2015 to 2021), with the Welsh Government Audit Committee (2014 to 2018), and Linc Cymru (2014 to 2018).
