ICB organisational structure: February 2023
The Integrated Care Board (ICB), which became operational in July 2022, is the new organisation responsible for the day-to-day running of the NHS in Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire.
We are currently working with staff to develop a new operational structure that reflects our developing role; and accounts for the end of additional funding received during the Covid-19 pandemic. It is important to note that the changes affect ICB staff only, and do not impact staff in other NHS organisations in our local area, such as hospital trusts. There has been some inaccurate media reporting on this subject.
One of the consequences of the proposed changes is that we will not be renewing a number of fixed-term contracts that had been paid for by non-recurrent Covid-19 funding. We are currently working with staff to review the changes, and expect the impact on permanent members of staff to be minimal.
